What’s in my Ipsy Glam Bag? (April)

Even though there’s so much snow outside on the ground, I’m enjoying my April Ipsy Glam Bag! This month, the theme is Social Butterfly, and the bag is SUPER cute! I’m probably going to use this as a clutch instead of a makeup bag just because it’s so adorable!!

If you didn’t know, Ipsy is a great beauty subscription box (only $10 a month) that brings you new full size products each month, depending on your preferences in color and the type of product. Every month you get a new bag with a new set of 5 beauty products to try out and review, earning you points and gaining discounts for future items. One cool thing about Ipsy beauty bags are that I may not receive the same products that you receive in a given month. Each bag is tailored to the kind of products you request and regularly use. Here’s my February and March reviews.

The Bag

The pattern for this month’s glam bag is seriously the cutest! Gorgeous rose-gold metalic corners and zipper with this adorable butterfly pattern. I’m probably going to end up using this bag as a clutch just because it’s so cute! Too cute to just sit in my makeup drawer!

TRIFLE COSMETICS

TRIFLE COSMETICS, Sugar Bunny Lip Scrub

First of all, this smells HEAAAVENLYYYY! It’s made with vanilla, sweet almond oil, watermelon, and strawberry extract, so not only does it make your lips feel super soft, but also gives off this spring garden vibe. Second, this lip scrub is hypoallergenic, non comedogenic, vegan, and gluten-free. Hooray! An absolutely great scrub to go on for a little lipy time. Great for giving your lips the moisture they need before applying your lipstick.

NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP, Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul

The color of this lip cream is super nice. A soft rose pink that looks great on me. The only problem is that the texture (while being AMAZINGLY creamy) seems a little thick. Still looks great though, and is great paired after the sugar lip scrub. I think next time I would prefer to get a bit of a bolder color, though.

NAILMEDIC, Nail Polish in Rise & Slay

“Holy ___, Batman!” This nail polish is DIVINE! Great texture that goes on smoothly; subtle, yet an absolutely amazing color. It’s a bit of a minty-pastel so it goes great with a whole slew of colors. I paired this with a gold nailpolish and I think they turned out super nice. The polish is also infused with keratin and calcium to strengthen and restore damaged nails (which, goodness knows, I need…) and is formulated to protect nails against pollutants and toxins.

BUBBLE T COSMETICS, Lemongrass & Green Tea Restoring Hand Cream

It snowed another foot last night, and all this winter makes my hands CRAZY dry. I always keep hand cream at my desk, in my purse, coat, by my bed, and my hands STILL can’t seem to stay moisturized. This lemongrass and green tea cream does wonders! I really like that the consistency isn’t oily or leaves my hands feeling greasy. It also doubles as an addictive fragrance. The fresh lemongrass and green tea scent is like a wake-up call in a bottle.

LUNA BY LUNA COSMETICS, Eyeshadow in Selene

This eyeshadow has this great velvety texture, which I love! It nicely pigmented without being too crazy. It blends really well, and I paired it with some nice bronze colors to get the perfect look. It last a long time too, which I appreciate since I usually end up rubbing my eyes throughout the day (staring at a computer screen for 8 hours a day will do that to a person). The color I got, Selene, is a really nice shimmery pale pink that is ideal for highlighting your brow bone. I like using it in the center of my eye and then working out to a coppery/bronze shadow. I would have liked to have gotten the alternate color, Pumpkin Spice, since it had much more of a gold/copper tone which is usually my go-to color on my eyes.

Hannarchy Banners 2 (24)

As for the full value, drummroll please! This bag has a value of about $50.28. For only paying $10 for the subscription, you definitely get more for what you pay for! All in all, I thought this was a pretty great bag. Definitely loved the butterfly pouch, lib scrub, and nail polish the best, though.

  1. The bag is really cute and I think it makes all the difference. It’s annoying when a company gives you a gift with a bag but the bag is terrible. The eye shadow is a beautiful colour and I also love the look of the NYX lip gloss. It’s super wearable for this season.

  2. I didn’t know about this box at all ! It’s really a cute bag, I love the design 😍 And I love the fact that the products are full ! It’s awful when you get something awesome that lasts only a few days 😅
