FabFitFun: Is it worth it?

Hello loves! After doing Ipsy for a year, I feel like it’s about time I tried out some new subscription boxes that the internet has been ranting and raving over.

I’m sure everyone who’s spent any time on the internet or social media has heard of FabFitFun, a seasonal colossus of a box that costs $50. Now, personally, I don’t have $50 laying around so I hadn’t planned on ever trying it out. But with the fall season heading out, and a hefty coupon code in hand, I figured this was my chance to try out the elusive FabFitFun box and (of course) review it for all of you.

With FabFitFun, your box is customizable with a couple items you pick for yourself, with the rest filled in by the packing team. I’m always a fan of any subscription box that is (at least in part) customizable. I like knowing what i’m getting and if i’m going to spend that much money on a box of goodies, I better like what’s in them.

I actually did a first look video opening the box, with my first thoughts of the items packed inside. Trying out new things, and doing more video seemed like a good idea. Have a look!

If you don’t want to watch the video, here’s a quick glance at what came in my box…

My Customized Choices:

  • Twine Cheese Board with Plate
  • Anthropologie Travel Yoga Mat
  • The Better Skin Co. Lava Magik mask

What came in every box:

  • Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair
  • Harper + Ari Exfoliating Sugar Cubes in Juice Cleanse
  • Human + Kind Body Souffle

Added for me:

  • Trestique Mini Eye Essentials (Set of 4)
  • Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Roller Ball

Thoughts

To make this the short version, for those of you who hate reading long lines of text: I was disappointed. For a box that has a large social media presence, costs a lot, and is know by their products, I expected so much more. When I sat down to choose what I wanted in my box, most of the items I wanted were already sold out, so keep that in mind if you sign up for the box. Do it early or else the things you want won’t be there.

The products that I chose I do love, and am excited to use (the yoga mat, cheese board, and mask). But the rest was so blah, that I wouldn’t recommend dropping $50 on this subscription box to anyone… The biggest reason for charging such a high amount for this box is because the company says you are actually getting over $200 worth of items for only a fourth of the price. BUT, I wouldn’t spend money on this stuff anyways (even if it was really cheap). Just because something has a high price tag, doesn’t mean it’s actually any good or anything that I want.

The only thing that I really love out of this box is the aromatherapy roller ball. It’s something I specifically was looking/hoping for, and it delivered. But at the retail price of $29 just in itself, I would never consider buying this in real life.

I will say (to those of you who are fans of FabFitFun), that my friends who do receive the box every season have expressed their disappointment with this fall box as well. Apparently a LOT of people weren’t happy with how this box turned out. I will admit that maybe I just got a bad box. Others in the future may be better. But I don’t have the money or desire to try again. If someone wants to gift it to me or give me another promo code, then maybe, but still I’d rather spend my money on trying something else. So to answer the question, Is it worth it to get the FabFitFun box? I’d say no. No it’s not.

P.S. If you watched my video, let me know what you thought! I want to do more videos in the future, and maybe start up a YouTube channel for The Hannarchy. If you have any suggestions for future boxes or content you’d like to see, shoot me a message!
